Wipro to Acquire Yardley's Europe Business

Wipro Consumer is buying Yardley’s business in the UK and many other select countries of Europe (excluding Germany and Austria) from Lornamead Group. The acquisition will expand the geographic spread of the Yardley's portfolio already owned by Wipro. In 2009, Wipro acquired Yardley’s portfolio for Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Australasia from Lornamead in December 2009.

Established in 1770, Yardley is the oldest cosmetic company in the world. Yardley brand is in the business of manufacturing and retailing of personal care category with fragrance, bath and shower and skin care products.

Microsoft acquires Yammer

Software giant Microsoft acquired Private Social Network Company Yammer for $1.2 billion. Yammer, a four-year-old social networking company for enterprises.
